Farther Afield

"Farther Afield" is an audiovisual project combining 3D models made of three bay area locations, and original musical compositions to create atmospheric environments that look and feel familiar yet distant. This project was made for a juried digital show hosted by San Francisco arts nonprofit / (slash) at the beginning of the 2020 lockdown. Using screen recordings of explorations through three East Bay sites on Google Maps, Brendan created rough 3D models by scanning hundreds of individual stills. This process created models that are a representation of a representation of a place.
